The Vikings selected Penn State outside linebacker Gerald Hodges with the 120th overall choice in the fourth round of the draft Saturday.
The Star Tribune reports the 6 foot 1 inch, 243-pound Hodges started his college career at safety before moving to linebacker during his true freshman season as a Nittany Lion due to injuries.
Hodges led Penn State in tackles in both 2011 (106) and 2012 (109), with 18.5 tackles for loss in that time. He had 5½ sacks in his college career.
The Associated Press says there has been talk of moving Vikings’ veteran Erin Henderson from outside linebacker to the middle.
In the first round, the Vikings drafted Sharrif Floyd, Xavier Rhodes and Cordarrelle Patterson.
Minnesota still has picks in the fifth and sixth rounds and two more in the seventh.
