Bo Nix private workout? Check. Michael Penix Jr. private workout? Check. Drake Maye private workout? Check. J.J. McCarthy private workout? Check.
Those are the four quarterbacks the Minnesota Vikings have reportedly held private workouts with, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, who reported Monday that Minnesota sent a “large contingent” to Washington where they had Penix Jr. make “nearly 100 throws.”
Breer says the Vikings main decision-makers, including head coach Kevin O’Connell and general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, avoided pro day workouts with prized quarterback prospects and instead traveled the country for private sessions.
“In the end, you figure it gave the Vikings a really good picture of what each guy might look like in Minnesota’s offense, and the team’s culture, with the officials on the ground knowing that they still had the ability to bring the players to Minneapolis for [top-30 visits] in their back pockets if they needed to know more,” Breer wrote.
Missing among the quarterbacks the Vikings met with are Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels. Williams is a near lock to be drafted first overall by the Bears. Daniels, however, could be the second, third or maybe even the fourth quarterback off the board when the draft starts on April 25.
Why no workout with Daniels? It could be as simple as it just hasn’t happened yet. According to KSTP-TV’s Darren Wolfson, nothing has been planned yet but Daniels “has all sorts of interest” in playing for the Vikings.
Nothing planned yet. But let me hammer home a point I've previously made that I sense some aggregators messed up: Daniels has all sorts of interest in being a Viking.

The first round of the draft is rapidly approaching. Will the Vikings wait until draft night to trade up? Will they stand pat and keep the 11th and 23rd overall selections in the first round? Could a QB fall to them at 11? Will they consider a defensive player at 11 and then aim for Penix or Nix at 23?
There’s a lot of questions on the table and no answers at this point.
