Randy Moss is 40 years old and ready to show the world he can be a two-sport athlete. Either that or Moss teamed up with a professional soccer team for one heck of a April Fool’s joke.
The Charlotte Independence of the United Soccer League have a story and a video saying Moss has signed as goalie.
“Renewing my career is something that I’ve thought about for a long time now,” Moss says on the team’s website. “I’m excited to get started with the Charlotte Independence and show the world that I can be a two-sport athlete.”
Ironically, Charlotte’s season opener is Saturday, April 1.
We’re not how Moss got connected with this soccer team, but he lives in Charlotte where he helps coach his son’s high school football team, according to WCNC.
At the very least Moss must like soccer because he was caught on tape playing one-on-one back in 2008.
