The Minnesota Vikings are hopeful their star running back will be ready to kickoff their 2012 season. Adrian Peterson tore his ACL and MCL in his left knee during the third quarter of Saturday’s 33-26 win against the Washington Redskins. The Associated Press reports Peterson will have surgery within the next 10 days. The Vikings head trainer says Peterson will need eight to nine months to recover.
