Minnesota shut out Boston on its way to a 3-0 win in Game 2 of the PWHL Championship, evening the five-game series 1-1.
Goalie Nicole Hensley started in the net for the first time since the first game of the postseason and she dominated, stopping all 20 shots she faced.
Michela Cava and Sophie Jaques each scored a goal in the first period, then Jaques scored another empty-netter to seal the game.
Tuesday was Boston’s first loss of the postseason. After sweeping Montreal 3-0 in the semifinals, they had come away from Game 1 with a 3-1 win.
After two games at the Tsongas Center in Massachusetts, the series now heads home to the Xcel Energy Center. Game 3 will be played on Friday and Game 4 Sunday, as Minnesota attempts to take advantage of home ice.
