The Miami Heat are preparing to face Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio tonight, even though the point guard will likely sit out the game.
Team doctors still haven’t cleared Rubio, who is recovering from ACL surgery, from appearing in back-to-back games, but Heat coach Erik Spoelstra told the Pioneer Presstoday that “we’re preparing like he will play … you never know.”
Rubio has appeared in two games this year since sitting out the first 20 contests. He was instrumental in leading the Wolves to a victory over Dallas last Saturday at Target Center, but was held scoreless last night in Minnesota’s loss to Orlando.
