The Minnesota Twins have placed outfielder Alex Kirilloff on the 10-day injured list.
The roster move was announced Wednesday by the Twins, with team reporter Do-Hyoung Park saying Kirilloff is dealing with a “recurrence of the right wrist issues that sidelined him for much of last season.”
Technically, he’s dealing with right wrist inflammation, according to the roster move.
Trevor Larnach has been called up from Triple-A St. Paul. Larnach was Minnesota’s first-round pick (20th overall) in the 2018 MLB Draft. He played in 79 games with the Twins last season and slugged seven home runs.
Meanwhile, the Twins have designated relief pitcher Jharel Cotton for assignment and selected the contract of right-hander Dereck Rodriguez, who is the son of MLB Hall of Fame catcher Ivan Rodriguez.
Rodriguez will be used out of the Twins’ bullpen, though he’s made 35 starts in his MLB career, all previously with the San Francisco Giants.
