The Wild extended their winning streak to 9 games – tying a franchise record – on Thursday night with a 4-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens.
Center Eric Staal netted the game-winning goal in the 3rd period when Minnesota was shorthanded.
In a battle between Devan Dubnyk and Carey Price – arguably the two best goaltenders in the league – Dubnyk prevailed making 32 saves in the win.
What’s more impressive is that the Wild were able to score more than 3 goals against Price. It was just the sixth time this season that Price allowed 3 goals or more in his 25 starts.
With the win the Wild are 20-8-4 which is the second-best record in the Western Conference.
