Vikings owner Zygi Wilf is feeling optimistic about the team’s chances this season. In fact, if you believe what he told a group of reporters at Rush Creek Golf Club Wednesday, he’s never felt better.
According to the Pioneer Press, with Adrian Peterson now back with the team, Wilf thinks the Vikings can contend this year.
“We can win the Super Bowl, but I stopped my predictions I think my third season (of ownership),” Wilf told the reporters.
Peterson will play alongside second-year quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and newly acquired wide receiver Mike Wallace, which should create an offense that is far more explosive than last year’s team.
“He’s always been a part of the team and we’re very excited,” Wilf said, per the Pioneer Press. “It’s great to see the players respond to him being there. It’s all good for the team. I’m very happy for him to be back with us.”
The owner made it sound like Peterson was never going to be traded.

Wilf’s opinion about the Vikings has been shared by some in the national media as well. Monday Morning Quarterback’s Peter King recently listed the Vikings at No. 6 in his offseason power rankings.
But Bridgewater didn’t sound overly confident last week when he said it was too early for the Vikings to be contenders.
Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio notes that despite the “arrow pointing up” for the Vikings, maybe the more cautious approach is better, for now.
“There’s a danger, however, in putting the bar too high, especially for a franchise that hasn’t seen the divisional round in six years. It’s always better for a team’s expectations to be low, and the expectations are now anything but that for the 2015 Vikings.”
