Minnesota Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes won’t need surgery on an injured right knee that caused him to miss yesterday’s season opening 25-16 victory over the Tennessee Titans.
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer told reporters Rhodes is day-to-day, but would not give a timeline on when the Vikings top corner would return to the field.
Xavier Rhodes: "If I can (play Sunday vs. Packers), I'll be excited but if I can't I'll be even more upset than anything.''

Rhodes was scheduled to undergo an MRI on the knee Monday, but Zimmer said the injury would not require surgery.
He injured it while stretching during warmups on Sunday in Tennessee.
