While the crowd in Mankato on Monday was mesmerized by head coach Mike Zimmer slinging loud F-bombs whenever he got upset with a player, Adrian Peterson was standing on the sidelines resting his healing hamstring.
But not to worry, Zimmer explained to USA Today Sports that Peterson is 95 percent healed from the hamstring strain he suffered before camp.
“He’s close. (The hamstring strain is) real slight. Real, real slight,” Zimmer told Tom Pelissero. “He can do a lot of things. It’s just I don’t want him full-go yet. He’s probably 95 percent or something like that.”
With Peterson day-to-day the Vikings are using Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata in his place.
