As the carousel continues to turn in Minnesota, it looks as if another coach has been added to new head man Mike Zimmer’s staff, as reports over the weekend tell us that Pittsburgh running backs coach Kirby Wilson will join Minnesota in the same position.
Wilson joins Zimmer’s son Adam, offensive coordinator Norv Turner, his son Scott (quarterbacks), defensive coordinator George Edwards, and Jerry Gray (defensive backs) as new coaches to Minnesota’s staff.
This ESPN story also has the departed Joe Woods spilling the beans on coaches that will have a chance to stay with the Purple.
Former running backs coach James Saxon, who served in the position under now-Tampa Bay defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier, is no longer with the Vikings.
None of Minnesota’s additions to the staff are official, as Zimmer is waiting until the entire staff is assembled to introduce them.
