Wild coach Mike Yeo was visibly emotional after Tuesday night’s Wild win, a 2-1 overtime victory capped off by a Zach Parise power-play goal.
Yeo said the win was a “huge step” for his team, which ranks at the bottom of the NHL in scoring, according to the Pioneer Press.
“If we thought that we were just going to sign a couple of players … and here we are a playoff team, that’s not reality,” Yeo said after the game.
“It’s hard, you know?”
Minnesota, now 9-7-2 on the season, is in 11th place in the Western Conference, but just one point from the 8th playoff spot.
