The NBA Draft is still a little more than a month away, but we’re already digging through the web and finding reports that Timberwolves fans probably won’t be too fond of.
For example, Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski hinting at the possibility of Towns doing his best to avoid a meeting of any kind with the Timberwolves. The Lakers have the No. 2 pick, which needless to say, is a more attractive destination for just about any player (even though Minnesota has a better roster).
If Karl-Anthony Towns is determined to get to Lakers, it'll be interesting to see how agreeable his camp will be to meeting with Minnesota.

However, Towns is already on record, publicly, as saying he doesn’t care where he ends up; he just wants to be part of the NBA fraternity.

A report from Sheridan Hoops notes that it’s all but a sure thing the Wolves will take Towns, the better two-way big man compared to Duke’s Jahlil Okafor.
“Barring an injury issue similar to what Joel Embiid had last year, Towns is all but certain to be the first player to shake hands with Adam Silver on draft night and become the third straight No. 1 pick to wear a Minnesota jersey.”
The Towns versus Okafor conversation would be over if former UCLA star Don McLean had the final word. He’s been working out with Towns and gave this ringing endorsement in an interview with SNY.tv. His words, per Zags Blog.
“I’ve been doing this for 11 or 12 years pre-draft,” he told SNY.tv. “Because I had a lot of top 10 picks and a lot of really good players, I’m not really impressed or blown away. I had Towns all last week and I was blown away. Blown away.
“A kid that big but shoots it that well but handles it that well and understands the game, that’s coachable, that wants to get better, wants to be great, I was blown away by him last week.
“Am I a little biased? I’ve known Jahlil because I’ve done Adidas nations forever. Jahlil’s a great kid and a great player but I just think he doesn’t have as much to his game as Karl has.”
