An eight-point lead at the half turned into a disappointing loss as the Timberwolves saw their three-game winning streak come to an end in Portland, 108-97 Sunday night.
Minnesota has yet to win four straight games this season.
Outside of Kevin Love and J.J. Barea, the Wolves didn’t get much offensive production from anyone else on the team.
Love finished with 31 points and nine rebounds and Barea chipped in with 21 points off the bench. It’s the eighth time this month and sixth time in the last seven games that Love has scored at least 30 points.
Minnesota’s 60-52 lead at the half was wiped out when they were outscored by the Blazers 32-20 in the third quarter. The fourth quarter was more of the same as Portland put up 27 points to Minnesota’s 17.
The Wolves have a light workload this week with a game at Phoenix on Tuesday and in Sacramento on Saturday.
