The Timberwolves introduced their new shooting guard to the media today.
The Wolves hope 6-foot-7 Kevin Martin is the three-point threat they need.
Last year, he shot a career-high 42 percent from beyond the arc with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
“You can’t have success … if you can’t knock down threes,” Timberwolves basketball president Flip Saunders told reporters. “We needed to strengthen our team.”

“This was a very easy decision for me,” said Martin, who came to Minnesota last month in a sign-and-trade deal. “I feel very blessed to be up here and join a team of this caliber.”
Martin says he knew it was right move when Wolves Coach Rick Adelman gave him a hug when he arrived in Minnesota.
“Everyone knows Rick isn’t a hugger,” Martin said.
