If you blinked in December you might have missed the development of Timberwolves rookie Karl-Anthony Towns.
The consensus opinion among media members is that he keeps getting better, and that’s saying something considering he did enough in November to win the Western Conference Rookie of the Month Award.
Towns on Monday was named the Western Conference Rookie of the Month for December.
Comparing the numbers between the months and it’s not close – Towns got a lot better in December.
- November: 14.4 points, 9.4 rebounds, 52.6 percent shooting
- December: 18.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 55.3 percent shooting
According to FOX Sports North, Towns also piled up the sixth-most double-doubles (8) in December, which ranked first among rookies. His five games of at least 25 points and 10 rebounds were the most in a month for a rookie since Tim Duncan did the same in March of 1998.
