Nikola Pekovic returned from a sprained ankle to lead the Timberwolves over the shorthanded Celtics, 110-100 at Target Center Monday night.
Pekovic scored 29 points on 9-15 shooting, and he was a perfect 11-11 at the free throw line. As a team the Wolves dominated at the stripe, converting 25-27 free throws.
Andrei Kirilenko had an efficient night, scoring 17 points to go along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists in 27 minutes.
Ricky Rubio struggled with his shot (2-11), but finished with 9 points and 10 assists. Dante Cunningham added 19 points off the bench.
Kevin Garnett (coach’s decision) and Paul Pierce (personal reason) did not play.
