The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Tuesday that they will wear a commemorative patch on their jersey to honor Flip Saunders.
Saunders passed away on Sunday from complications due to Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He was 60.
The team says patch will be worn for the first time on Monday night when the Wolves host Portland in their home opener at Target Center, and will wear the patch for all games throughout the season.
The Pioneer Press reports the team also plans a pregame tribute to Saunders prior to their home opener that night.
According to the Star Tribune, the team also announced that it will wear a specially designed warm-up during all of their games through the month of November.
The gray shirt with black lettering shirt will say “WE” to symbolize togetherness. It will also say “Flip” over the heart.
