Wolves assistant coach Bill Bayno has been around basketball a long time, and he is about to add another stop to his storied career.
Reports have Bayno going to Toronto, where he’ll work under another former Wolves coach, Dwayne Casey.
An assistant coach taking off isn’t usually extremely newsworthy, but how Bayno got here and where he was before his stop in Minnesota makes his departure noteworthy at the least.
Per Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune, Wolves President of Basketball Operations Flip Saunders said Bayno will serve as Casey’s top assistant, the promotion being the reason Bayno is leaving with two years left on the four year contract he signed in 2011.
Sounds like Wolves are losing Bill Bayno to the #Raptors, who are getting a great coach, great guy w/a great story. http://t.co/WytguPeMmN
