Last night, the former Badger helped the Timberwolves zap the Magic 95-70 to improve to 3-1 on the year, knocking down 12 points — one points short of his career high.
Fox Sports North and other news outlets are jumping on the Stiemsma bandwagon, calling him the “newest success story on this underdog team.”
Star-Tribune writer Patrick Reusse calls Stiemsma a “vagabond” who may have found a home in Minnesota. Scoring six points in 55 seconds in a key second-half stretch helps the old job security, especially with injured stars Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio looking on from the bench.
Pioneer Press columnist Tom Powers also dedicated a bit of ink to Stiemsma. After playing in Turkey, South Korea, Georgia (the country) and Boston (the Celtics), Powers writes Stiemsma is “hell-bent on establishing himself as an NBA player with the Wolves.”
