After splitting a pair of games this weekend against the Knicks and 76ers, the Wolves begin another week of play in 7th place in the Western Conference, but just a half-game ahead of Ricky Rubio and the Utah Jazz.
Fortunately, the Wolves should be capable of sweeping three games this week against the Grizzlies, Hawks and Mavericks. And while the Wolves should be whipping up on bad teams, the three teams they’re chasing have a very difficult week ahead.

The Wolves got a little bit of help this weekend with New Orleans losing to Houston and the Spurs dropping a game in Milwaukee, so they’re just one game behind the Spurs for 6th and one back of the Pelicans for fifth.
Oklahoma City is two games ahead of Minnesota and in control of the 4-seed, but that could dip to 1.5 games if they lose to Portland Sunday night.
All in all, the stage is being set for the Wolves to make a charge back up the standings.
Minnesota has gone 6-6 in 12 games since Butler suffered a torn meniscus, but Butler says he’ll be back on the court “soon.”
