For the first time in the history of the Minnesota Timberwolves, they will be featured in the NBA’s coveted lineup of Christmas Day games.
The league revealed the 2016-17 schedule Thursday.
The Wolves will play Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder at 7 p.m. on Dec. 25 on ESPN.

According to the Pioneer Press, it’s one of 19 games the Wolves will have on national TV – also believed to be a team high.
Minnesota opens the season Oct. 26 against the Memphis Grizzlies. Their home opener is Nov. 1 also against the Grizzlies. Other notable dates:
- Dec. 11: Golden State at Timberwolves
- Dec. 13: Wolves and Tom Thibodeau head to the United Center to face the Bulls
- Feb. 1: Wolves face the NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers
- Feb. 14: Cavs return to Target Center
- Mar. 10: Golden State at Timberwolves
Minnesota then closes their regular season with 5 of their final 6 games on the road, wrapping up the season April 12 at Houston.
