New Timberwolves president of basketball operations Flip Saunders started re-tooling the team’s front office by firing five scouts Wednesday.
Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune reports that international scouting director Pete Philo, regional scouts J.T. Prada, Curtis Crawford and Steve Gordon and special-assignment scout Will Conroy were all let go.
Philo had been with the team for eight years and has been given a lot of credit for scouting Ricky Rubio.
The Pioneer Press reports Saunders is changing up the scouting department in anticipation of the NBA Draft on June 27.
