Flip Saunders hopped on a plane for Washington D.C. immediately after six NBA Draft prospects worked out for the Wolves on Thursday.
Saunders, according to FOX Sports North, was on his way to meet with former Indiana star Victor Oladipo.
Oladipo is considered one of the top guards in the draft, and Saunders hasn’t been shy about endorsing Oladipo as a potential stud.
“I think Oladipo … is a more ready player to jump into the league,” Saunders told KFAN-FM 100.3 last week when comparing Oladipo to fellow shooting guard Ben McLemore. “There’s something about Oladipo; I look at the ‘it’ factor.”
Oladipo was named the National Assocation of Basketball Coaches Co-Defensive Player of the Year. He shared the honor with Kansas center Jeff Withey, who worked out for the Wolves on Thursday.
Saunders is also scheduled to meet with former UCLA guard Shabazz Muhammad on Sunday in Minneapolis.
