The Boston Celtics have withdrawn their offer to restricted free agent Greg Steimsma, therefore clearing the way for him to sign with the Timberwolves. Steimsma signed an offer sheet with the Wolves over the weekend, and will likely make the deal official in the near future.
Timberwolves president of basketball operations David Kahn tells the Star Tribune that he talked with Ricky Rubio recently, and the spanish point guard told him that he thinks he can run right now, but his doctors won’t let him. Rubio believes he’s ahead of schedule in his rehab from a torn ACL, and will learn more when he meets with a specialist in early August.
One more note, this one regarding former Wolves’ forward Michael Beasley. As you may already know, Beasley signed with the Suns earlier this month. He’s also moving on from marijuana in order to harness his potential — potential that he believes will land him in the All-Star game next year.
