Roughly one hour before the Wolves were scheduled to take on the Rockets at Target Center, word came down that head coach Rich Adelman will miss the game for a “personal reason”.
Adelman’s wife has dealt with seizures in the past, something that caused him to miss 11 games last season, though it was not immediately known if missing tonight’s contest was related to his wife’s condition.
Adelman is expected to coach Wednesday against Denver, and Terry Porter will assume Adelman’s duties tonight.
As for forward Kevin Love, who missed Saturday’s loss to Portland with a bruised quad, he is expected to return to the lineup Monday in Minnesota’s second-to-last game before the All-Star break.
The Wolves will be without Kevin Martin, who is out indefinitely with a broken thumb, as well as Nikola Pekovic, who is not expected to play Wednesday either, so the presence of Love comes as welcome news for Minnesota fans.
