The Timberwolves released Josh Howard on Thursday. The move was a result of a torn ACL Howard suffered last week in a win over New Orleans. He was originally signed to help bridge the gap while key players like Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio, Nikola Pekovic and Brandon Roy were injured.
Meanwhile, second year guard Malcolm Lee is out indefinitely with a knee injury. Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune speculates that Lee could miss the rest of the season because he may need microfracture surgery.
