The one-year Brandon Roy experiment is over.
Timberwolves president of basketball operations Flip Saunders released Roy on Friday. The saves the team $5.3 million.
“We wish Brandon and his family all the best in the future,” Saunders said in a statement released by the team.
Roy, who retired from basketball in December of 2011, played in just five games this season because his knees just couldn’t hold up.
