According to NBC Sports, Pekovic is owed $23.7 million over the next two seasons with the Wolves.
Pekovic had been working out for the team in the Twin Cities, but a couple of weeks ago it was learned that he wasn’t ready for the season.
Pekovic’s body has been breaking down over the last few years. The 30-year-old center has missed 205 career games – including 70 last season, most of them due to ankle problems.
The Wolves have made it a priority to add big men this offseason. They already have Karl-Anthony Towns, Gorgui Dieng, Cole Aldrich and Jordan Hill upfront.
Nemanja Bjelica and Adreian Payne area also on the roster and could be options as well.
