In the Animal Planet video below, featuring a battle for food between a pack of wolves and bears, the narrator says, “the wolves seize the moment and steal victory.”
Those are animals. The Timberwolves are not — and they were crushed by a group of humans called the Memphis Grizzlies, 92-77 Monday night.
Minnesota, who evened up its home record at 16-16 with a win over New Orleans on Sunday, is now 7-26 on the road this season.
The Wolves’ starting five of Ricky Rubio, Luke Ridnour, Andrei Kirilenko, Derrick Williams and Nikola Pekovic combined for 33 points. Memphis’ starters scored 69 points. That, basketball fans, is the key to victory — or in the Wolves’ case — the key to losing.
Rubio tweaked his groin in the third quarter. He left for a while to test his groin by running sprints near the locker room. He returned to the game and seemed fine.
Ricky said he didn't hurt nada tonight, says he was and is fine…
