Ricky Rubio’s mother, Tona Vives, has passed away at the age of 56.
The Wolves issued a statement saying: “The Timberwolves organization is deeply saddened to learn of the passing today of Tona Vives, Ricky Rubio’s mother. The Timberwolves send our condolences to the Vives and Rubio families in this difficult time.”
His mother was the first person Rubio hugged after the Wolves drafted him fifth overall in 2009.
