It took double overtime to secure it, but the Wolves finally ended their losing streak at 11 with a win in Sacramento over the Kings.
The Wolves were without their star player Karl-Anthony Towns for the fifth straight game with a knee sprain, but managed to outlast the Kings to win 105-104.
Minnesota had to come back in the 4th quarter to take it to overtime, outscoring the Kings 19-11 in a period low on quality.
After first overtime ended at 7 points apiece, the Wolves went on a 6-0 run thanks to an Andrew Wiggins jumper, a Jeff Teague floater and a Robert Covington layup.
The Kings came back and had a chance to win it at the buzzer, but Buddy Hield’s last-second 3-pointer came back off the rim to bring an end to the NBA’s longest losing streak.
Gorgui Dieng led the Wolves with 21 points and 15 rebounds, Covington came away with 19 points and 8 rebounds, and Wiggins 18 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists.
The Wolves are now 11-19 and next face the Cleveland Cavaliers at Target Center on Saturday evening.
