Towns was the center of the Timberwolves’ offense on Monday but was joined by Ricky Rubio. The Minnesota guard had 11 points and 11 assists, but the Wolves found themselves down 57-50 at halftime.
The key to the game was the performance of the Thunder’s bench. Oklahoma City had three players in double-figures including Ty Jerome, who led the Thunder bench with 15 points.
With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leading the way with 29 points, the Thunder were able to hand the Wolves a 112-103 defeat.
The Timberwolves fell to 10-32 with the loss and will host the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night.
