The Timberwolves missed another opportunity to win two straight games as they fell to the 76ers 103-94 in Philadelphia Friday night.
A Timberwolves scoring drought that lasted more than three minutes late in the fourth quarter was enough to create space for the Sixers.
Turnovers also haunted the Wolves in the second half. After just five turnovers in the first half, the Wolves committed 16 in the second half to finish with 21 on the night.
Michael Carter-Williams led Philadelphia with a triple-double. He finished with 17 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds. Former Wolf Luc Mbah a Moute scored a team-high 18 and Nerlens Noel added 14. It was the first time Philadelphia eclipsed the 100 point-mark in 24 games.
Kevin Martin led the Wolves with 19, Nikola Pekovic added 18 and Andrew Wiggins chipped in 15 for the Wolves in the loss. The game seemed to change in the third quarter when Zach LaVine left the contest after “twisting” his ankle.

LaVine didn’t return and there was no immediate prognosis for him. The Wolves rookie has been selected to participate in the NBA’s Slam Dunk contest during All-Star weekend in New York, on Feb. 14.
The Wolves return to Target Center Saturday night for the return of Kevin Love and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
