Andrew Wiggins, the Timberwolves’ best player over the last 14 games, could get some help with the potential returns of center Nikola Pekovic and shooting guard Kevin Martin this week.
According to the Wolves’ public relations staff, Pekovic is questionable to return from the ankle injury that has kept him in a suit, behind the bench for more than two months.

Pekovic hasn’t played since Nov. 15 because of an aggravated ankle injury. Prior to his injury, the big man was averaging 11.9 points and 8.1 rebounds in nine games, according to Basketball Reference.
Kevin Martin, who has missed more than two months with fractured wrist, could return to play Wednesday, too. On Sunday, the team upgraded his status for Monday’s game against Charlotte – a 105-80 loss – from doubtful to questionable.

Without Martin and Pekovic, Wiggins has averaged more than 21 points per game in January, including a career-high 31 points in Minnesota’s victory over Denver on Saturday.
