Kevin Love had a chance for more late game heroics in Cleveland tonight, but his three-pointer at the buzzer went begging and the Cavaliers dealt the Wolves their first loss of the season 93-92.
The Wolves trailed Cleveland, the NBA’s lowest scoring team entering the night, by 23 midway through the third quarter, but charged back with a big fourth quarter.
Still, five Cavaliers reaching double figures was enough for Cleveland, as Minnesota shot just 36 percent from the field on the evening.
Anthony Bennett, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, missed his only three shots tonight for the Cavs, and is 0-for-15 from the field this year.
Kevin Martin led the Wolves with 23, while Kevin Love, who led the NBA in scoring coming into the Wolves fourth game, had just 17.
The Wolves have tomorrow off before returning home to Target Center Wednesday, a 7 p.m. tap against high-scoring Stephen Curry and Golden State.
