It’s impossible to suffer a worse loss than the Wolves did Monday night at home against the lowly Memphis Grizzlies.
Actually, “lowly” is probably a compliment for how awful the Grizzlies have been this season. Think about this way: on Jan. 30 the Grizzlies were 18-32, and entering Monday’s game against the Wolves they were 19-54.
Do the math. They had lost 22 of their last 23 games prior to beating the Wolves 101-93 in Minnesota.
Not only that, but Memphis lost by 61 points to Charlotte last Thursday.
One more nugget of horror: Minnesota made just THREE shots in the fourth quarter and scored 11 points.

This is the loss that could knock the Wolves out of the playoffs.
Minnesota falls to 42-33 on the season, good for 8th place in the Western Conference playoff race. They’re a half-game behind Utah (42-32) and just 1.5 games ahead of 9th-place Denver, who, for the Wolves’ sake, lost in Philadelphia on Monday.
