ATLANTA — Jannero Pargo scored 14 fourth-quarter points to power Atlanta past Minnesota, 104-96, as the Timberwolves blew an 18-point lead in a Monday afternoon contest at Phillips Arena.
With Nikola Pekovic, as well as Kevin Love, missing from the T-Wolves’ lineup, the Hawks pounded the ball in to big man Al Horford, who scored a season-high 28 points.
Atlanta was also helped by getting 16 points from a surprise source. Guard Jannero Pargo signed a 10-day contract before tipoff Monday, to help the Hawks replenish their injury-depleted bench.
A 16-4 fourth quarter run by Atlanta iced Minnesota’s collapse and sent the Wolves to their sixth loss in seven games.
Forward Derrick Williams was Minnesota’s leading scorer with 17 points. Five other Wolves scored in double figures, including J.J. Barea who had 14 to go with seven assists.
The Timberwolves are back in action Wednesday night at Target Center against the Nets.
