The Timberwolves are back to .500 (11-11) on the season after a steamrolling the San Antonio Spurs 128-89 at Target Center on Wednesday night.
The 39-point victory is the largest in franchise history against San Antonio. In fact, the margin of victory is 15 points more than any other Wolves win over the Spurs.
Robert Covington continues to shine for the Wolves and he led the team with 21 points and nine rebounds while connecting on 4-of-9 3-pointers. Derrick Rose scored 16 points and also hit four 3s off the bench to join the of seven Wolves to score in double figures.
“It’s big time when you get a team like that and play an organization like that, and we come out and play defense the way we did,” said Karl-Anthony Towns, via ESPN. “It’s a wonderful sight and it shows the hard work we’re putting in day-in and day-out.”
Josh Okogie, who hasn’t played much of late, came off the bench and hit three triples and threw down one of the most impressive dunks of the season.

After starting the season 4-9 the Wolves have won seven of nine games, all since trading Jimmy Butler, and they’re within 3 1/2 games of the Nuggets for first place in the Northwest Division.
