The Minnesota Twins’ long-awaited Home Opener is at risk of turning into a damp squib, with rain in the forecast as Target Field prepares to welcome fans back for the first time since 2019.
With the Twins and the Seattle Mariners due to get underway at Target Field 3:10 p.m., the forecast is currently showing light rain and showers in the offing.
This in turn is having an impact on ticket prices in the secondary resale market ahead of the game.
As of Wednesday morning, Upper Deck tickets are being listed for as little as $38 on StubHub, which is relatively inexpensive given it’s the Home Opener and only 10,000 fans will be allowed in the stadium.
It marks a contrast from a few weeks back, when tickets on StubHub couldn’t be found for cheaper than $120.

If these seats are being sold by genuine fans who were excited about the game but don’t fancy the potential of a washout, then you have our commiserations.
But if these seats are being sold by scalpers who were looking to cash in on genuine fans by buying up Opening Day seats, then we are laughing in your general direction.
