The Minnesota Wild has added a third goalie to the team.
Darcy Kuemper has been called up from Houston to join Niklas Backstrom and Josh Harding.
Defenseman Marco Scandella has been sent back to the Aeros, according to the team.
Kuemper was called up because Harding, who is battling multiple sclerosis, has been feeling “off” as he continues to adapt to his new medication.
Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher also told the media in Vancouver that “this is not something we weren’t prepared for.”
As for Harding, he’s sounding pretty positive:
#mnwild Josh Harding says he knew there would be "bumps in the road." Says he's "100%" positive he'll be able to continue to be #nhl goalie
