After missing last week’s home loss against Illinois with a sore shoulder, Gophers senior forward Rodney Williams is expected to play Thursday night when the Wisconsin Badgers visit The Barn.
Williams told the Star Tribune that his shoulder is about 85-percent healthy, but says a little pain is “nothing” he can’t play through.
Amelia Rayno writes that Trevor Mbakwe needs more touches for the Gophers to be at their best on the offensive end.
Both Minnesota and Wisconsin boast 17-7 records, but the Badgers are 8-3 in Big Ten play — three games ahead of the Gophers (5-6).
Michael Rand did some digging and found out that Minnesota hasn’t finished ahead of Wisconsin in the conference standings since the 1997-98 season.
