Fifteen years ago the Vikings rocked the Giants on “Monday Night Football” thanks to a pair of touchdown catches by Randy Moss. That Vikings team was terrible. But if that’s the last time you can recall the Vikings actually winning a Monday night game we wouldn’t blame you, because they’ve been really bad under the weekday lights.
In the last decade, the Vikings are an ugly 4-7 on Monday nights including six straight losses, the last four of which have been by a combined score of 128-31.
- 2010: Jets – loss 29-20
- 2010: Bears – loss 40-14
- 2011: Packers – loss 45-7
- 2013: Giants – loss 23-7
- 2015: 49ers – loss 20-3
The loss to the Jets wasn’t all that bad in the final score, but Brett Favre and the offense went scoreless until late in the third quarter when Favre hit Moss for his final touchdown as a Viking.
So the big question is if the Vikings can shake those Monday memories and prove to the world that this year’s team is one to reckon with.

New York media is approaching the game as if it’ll take the Giants’ best to beat the undefeated Vikings. Take this from the New York Daily News:
“But Big Blue had better bring its best, because otherwise, if they keep making the same mistakes, they will be sent home with a humiliating defeat that makes the result feel a lot worse than just one loss.”
One statistic that should give Vikings fans even more hope is that when it comes to winning the turnover battle, the Vikes are the best in the NFL (+8) while the Giants ranked 30th (-6).
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. inside a very loud U.S. Bank Stadium.
