The Minnesota Wild fell to the Dallas Stars 4-3 in overtime Tuesday night at Xcel Energy Center.
1. Overtime struggles continue
Overtime continues to be unkind to the Wild. Minnesota dropped to just 1-10 in games played under the new 3-on-3 overtime rules.
Tuesday night, Dallas’ John Klingberg put the game away with his ninth goal of the season. Jamie Benn helped out, picking up his 33rd assist.

2. Forgotten men get going
The Wild’s offense has been stuck in a funk the last few weeks but a couple of Minnesota’s forgotten goal scorers surfaced to provide some early scoring.
Erik Haula finished the night with a goal and an assist, including the night’s first goal less than five minutes in.

Justin Fontaine put Minnesota up 2-1, with his third goal of the year.
3. Lehtonen keeps the Stars alive in the third
Dallas goaltender Kari Lehtonen kept Dallas in the game with big save after big save in the third period. Minnesota outshot the Stars 17-4 in the third.
