An incredible third period and overtime led the Minnesota Wild to a 4-3 overtime win over the Los Angeles Kings Saturday night, giving the Wild a perfect 2-0 start to the season.
Trailing 3-1 in the third period, the Wild cut the deficit to one on a goal by Joel Eriksson Ek and then scored in heart-stopping fashion with 2 seconds left in regulation to force the game into overtime. The video of Ryan Suter’s game-tying goal does the moment justice, not words…

Suter’s game-tying miracle goal spurred the momentum for the Wild to win in overtime on a goal by Marcus Johansson, which came with just 10.6 seconds on the clock before the game would’ve gone to a shootout.

Rookie phenom Kirill Kaprizov assisted on the game-winning goal. He has three assists and one goal (the game-winner in the season opener) in his first two games in a Wild sweater.
Matt Dumba scored the first goal of the night for Minnesota. The Wild now have back-to-back 4-3 overtime victories to start the season.
They’ll try to keep the road winning streak going when they play twice in Anaheim against the Ducks on Monday and Wednesday, followed by the home opener at Xcel Energy Center January 22 against the San Jose Sharks.
