The Minnesota Wild defeated Florida on Friday night 3-2 at the Xcel Energy Center.
The Wild’s Charlie Coyle snuck a wrist shot by Florida goalie Tim Thomas to give the Wild the victory. Coyle’s goal helped the Wild get the victory after losing a 2-0 lead after the first period.
Zach Parise and Jason Pominville got the Wild out to that 2-0 lead.
But two third period goals from Thomas Kopecky and Jonathan Huberdeau for the Panthers evened the score at 2.
Coyle’s goal then put the Wild on top for good. Minnesota then was able to hold on for the win.
Josh Harding continued to play solid in net. The Wild goalie stopped 22 of 24 shots on Friday night. Minnesota is back in action on Sunday against the Jets.
