The Wild snapped a three game losing streak with a 3-2 win over Columbus on Tuesday night at the Xcel Energy Center.
Minnesota got off to a great start, receiving goals from Mikko Koivu and Tom Gilbert.
The Blue Jackets kept the Wild off the scoreboard in the second period while scoring their first — a wrist shot by Mark Letestu. They would tie the game a little over seven minutes into the third period on Jack Johnson’s power play goal.
Tied at two, the Wild finally received a goal from a non-first line forward. Pierre Marc-Bouchard, who replaced Matt Cullen on the second line, scored the game-winner on a snap shot at the 14:51 mark of the third period.
Bouchard also attempted the first penalty shot of the season for the Wild. The attempt came shortly after his goal, but he didn’t find the back of the net. Maybe because he didn’t use the “spin-o-rama.”
