The Minnesota Wild have signed center Christoph Bertschy to a three-year, entry-level contract starting next season, the team announced Sunday.
The 21-year-old Fribourg, Switzerland, native was drafted by Minnesota in the sixth rough (158th overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
During his 2014-15 season with SC Bern in the Swiss League, Bertschy tallied 30 points, a plus-14 rating and 26 penalty minutes in 44 games.
The Star Tribune’s Michael Russo says the 5-foot-10, 189-pound player is “a skilled winger with good speed, a skilled playmaker. Not the biggest body but is well conditioned and strong for his size.”
