The Minnesota Wild proved they are never out of a game on Sunday night, rallying from a three-goal deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Kings 5-3.
It appeared the Wild would get off to a fast start when Troy Stetcher was called for tripping 28 seconds in to the game. But Rasmus Kupari had other ideas, scoring a shorthanded goal at 1:33 of the first period to put the Kings on the board.
Los Angeles piled it on in the first 10 minutes, getting a goal from Carl Grunstrom and a power play marker from Adrian Kempe, to take a 3-0 lead. Just as it looked like the Wild were going to get run out of their own rink, Minnesota responded with a power play goal from Kirill Kaprizov.

Kaprizov’s 42nd goal of the year tied a franchise record set by Marian Gaborik (2007-08) and Eric Stall (2017-18). But it also energized the Wild, who chipped into the lead again with Matt Boldy’s 13th goal of the season.
The momentum carried over into the second period, where the Wild tied the game on Jared Spurgeon’s seventh goal of the year.

From that point, the puck kept finding its way toward the back of the Kings’ net. Los Angeles goaltender Cal Petersen was overmatched as Mats Zuccarello scored his 22nd goal of the season to give Minnesota its first lead.
The Wild never gave it back.
Marcus Foligno padded the lead with his 21st goal of the season. In the third, Nick Bjugstad scored his sixth goal of the year to cap off a dominant finish for Minnesota.
The Wild (44-21-6) will look to pick up another win when they host the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night.
